A mini-documentary on the day John Lennon died, through McCartney’s eyes
On what would have been John Lennon’s 75th birthday, his Beatles band member Paul McCartney released a mini-documentary in his honour. The film allows us to get inside the head of McCartney on the day he found out Lennon had been killed. In response to John Lennon’s death, McCartney wrote a song entitled ‘Here Today’ and says the song was about the ‘kinda stuff I never said to him, taking the form of an imaginary conversation we might have had’. Even if you’re not a Beatles fan, this mini-documentary is both heartwarming and hard to watch for its sadness.
