Creative Stranger Things homage is sweet in more ways than one
Former web and graphic design artist, Kylie Mangles rediscovered her love for baked goods while making a friend’s wedding cake and never looked back.
Mangles would upload her creations on her graphic design company’s Facebook page and found her cakes and cookies were more popular. She established a new business, Letter Press Bakery, and broke into internet notoriety with an incredible Ralph Wiggum cake.
This elaborate Stranger Things piece is a for Cake Con International. Inspired by San Diego Comic Con, Mayra Prado Estrada and Cassandra Rice conceived the idea of Cake Con International in 2015.
It’s now a fantastic collaboration between a number of cake/sugar artists that merges their love of geek and pop culture with their passion and flair for cake artistry.
In 2017 they had a booth at Cake and Bake Germany and then earlier this year became the first collaboration ever to display edible art inspired by comics at Wonder Con.
Details for what’s to come in 2019 is top secret at the moment, but it’s expected to be their biggest year yet.
