Driving through a forest fire is what a real-life nightmare looks like

This is the stuff nightmares are made of – albeit worse, because it’s real. In Lake County, California, a catastrophic inferno broke out, destroying 50,000 acres in 36 hours and leaving more than 19,000 people fleeing for their lives. It also burned down more than a thousand homes, forcing local authorities to declare a state of emergency.

As he made his escape from the Valley Fire, YouTube user ‘mulletFive’ recorded his harrowing drive through a street lined with trees set ablaze. It’s like going through a real-life highway to hell. Check out the following video and be sure to head on over to their GoFundMe page, where the survivors are raising money to rebuild their home.
