Japanese wrestler beats the living hell out of baseball mascot
The first pitch in a baseball game is a ceremonial affair, sometimes touching or inspiring, but often pretty dull. Not in this Japanese match, though.
In yesterday’s NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) match between Hanshin Tigers and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, a legendary professional wrestler was invited to throw the first pitch. With professional wrestling in Japan being very uniquely Japanese and baseball firmly rooted as the number one sport in the country, it only makes sense that these two worlds should collide.
The pitch was a complete failure, causing one of the mascots to pick a fight with the veteran wrestler. Surely this is the best way to open any sporting event.
