Incredible stop motion short uses body art to depict depression
“Adam – Grey Matters” is an animated portrait, illustrating some of the underlying neurological processes and emotions associated with depression.
Artist Emma Allen teamed up with neuroscientist Daisy Thompson-Lake to create this short, but impactful film about depression.
It’s the first entry in a series tackling mental illnesses, entitled “Grey Matters“.
The series aims to raise awareness by creating artistic impressions of underlying neurological processes involved in mental health disorders.
Adam’s message is one of positivity – “Just like the lotus we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world.”
