People DESTROYING themselves chasing cheese down a hill is the best sport ever
Nothing about what you’re going to read and watch is a work of fiction. We swear. The “Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake” is real and it’s an annual event held near Gloucester UK.
Every year, hundreds of spectators turn out to watch the traditional event, in which a 4 kilogram round of Double Gloucester cheese is sent rolling down Cooper’s Hill and believe it or not, contestants willingly throw themselves down to desperately chase the piece of dairy.
This year, local Chris Anderson broke the all-time record for the most cheeses won in the competition, with a total of 22 double Gloucester cheeses in 14 years.
The 30-year-old said after his historic achievement, “I’ve got nothing to prove now, I’m happy.”
