Waleed Aly crushes Government’s vote-grubbing stance on Sudanese gangs
On last night’s episode of The Project, Waleed Aly lambasted the Coalition on the use of African gangs to leverage votes in two important upcoming elections.
The segment came after comments made by Malcolm Turnbull in his Tuesday appearance on 3AW, where he acknowledged the concern related to African gangs in Victoria. A number of other Coalition members have also reflected similar sentiments, pushing the idea that the party will be tough on these gangs.
Aly concedes that people of African heritage are over-represented in some crimes, but they comprise of only a small fraction of crime committed in Victoria.
