The Wombats treat us to a stripped back version of their smash hit ‘Lemon To a Knife Fight’

Conventional wisdom holds that indie-pop bands aren’t built to last – but The Wombats are anything but conventional, and continue to be an irrepressible force.

They burst onto the scene in the late 2000s, amongst a crowded field of jumpy, British indie bands (Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis etc), and established themselves with thumping dance floor singles like ‘Let’s Dance To Joy Division’ and ‘Moving To New York’.

But while most of their contemporaries have dropped off the radar, the three lads from Liverpool have shown a remarkable knack for resilience, evolving their sound to add layers of sophistication to their lo-fi roots.

The result? Four critically-acclaimed studio albums, festival headline gigs (including a final night blockbuster at this year’s Splendour In The Grass) and an evergrowing army of rabidly loyal fans.

Dropping earlier this year, the latest iteration has been a pulsating pop-rock EP titled ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’.

We were thrilled to have Murph, Dan and Tord in for a Lost At E Minor Session to perform the smash hit off the album, ‘Lemon To A Knife Fight’.
